This Rumba legend and one of the best vocalists from The Democratic Republic of the Congo makes an incredibly rare appearance at The Jazz Cafe in London in June.
Nyboma Mwan'dido is a prominent Congolese soukous tenor vocalist with a career spanning over five decades as a leading member of several iconic bands, including Orchestre Bella Bella, Orchestre Lipua Lipua, Orchestre Kamale, Les Quatre Étoiles, and Kékélé, in addition to performing and recording as a solo artist. He is widely recognised as one of the best singers in Congolese music.
With classic tracks like “Double Double”, “Moyibi”, “Nina,” and his band Kékélé’s ” Conséquence” (included at the top of Barack Obama’s 2021 Summer song playlist), his music resonates with global audiences.
With incredible impact on African music as well as Afro-Cuban, and Latin-American sounds, this foundational figure takes his highly spirited and party-fuelled live show to our home this June ahead of Congolese Independence Day.
